Hi Janet

Our stamping ground:) Holy Isalnd causeway is magical - I've arrived to find it covered in water in the past, so now tend to check the tide tables first. This is the best ime of year to visit too - less people is generally a good thing.

I likethe Bamburgh shots - particularly the night shot sa I've never sen it lit like that. The beach really is spectacular isn't it.

Hi Mike

Yes we checked the tide times before crossing we didn't want to get stuck on the island! It must be 15 years or so since we last visited Holy island, I was amazed at how many people were there - so popular now, but we still enjoyed our visit. We stayed in The Lord Crewe hotel, right opposite the castle, apparently all the lights on the castle come on at about 10pm, the receptionist rang us as soon as the lights came on so we had a stroll after dinner and managed to grab a few handheld shots, no tripod with me! Lovely part of the country, we may go back in Spring and go the the Farne islands.

Hi Cem

Thank you! Sorry I hadn't noticed your reply, we were both posting at the same time....

I think my favourite is No 3, but it does look to be leaning over backwards somewhat!

You might consider rotating the image a little CW, as the horizons seems also to be skewed. You could also use the perspective tool to slightly compensate for the leaning; moderation would be the key. If the image is not a crop, you will lose info in the edges due to the rotation and perspective adjustment. This is one typical case where Asher's motto of shooting just a tad wider would have saved the day ;-). But you can still use cloning to restore certain parts.

Cheers,

Hi Cem

I can't believe that I hadn't even noticed the skewed horizon! thank you for pointing it out, and the advice. Yes it is full frame, I'll have a go at correcting it. I couldn't get any further away - I was leaning backwards as far as I could in a rather precarious position on the bridge! I have loads more I'll find time to look at them later. Thanks again Cem!
