Found a good spot for Wood Ducks but every time i am hiding out waiting on them I can usually find a Raptor lurking behind me. Here are 2 Raptors giving me the stare down as the Wood Ducks approached the last 2 visits!!!

I was positioned along the creek in some serious shade. No Flash used!

1. Barred Owl Didn't think he would fit between the 2 branches ...he proved me wrong!

I love the owl - I have a difficult time ever finding owls up here in Montana. I know there are tons of them herre, they are tough to find...

Nice work - great shot!

Eric,

In both cases you have a great highlight in the eyes and that makes the birds so alive. I was wondering why fish pictures don't seem to show such great reflections! The owl does seem to have a great sense of it's body space. I wonder if they ever misjudge?

Two good shots.

The owl makes me smile a bit as his eyes are slightly comical to me.

The second is nice and close clear.

Good one mate.

Eric, your bird shots are among the best I've ever seen. Anywhere.

Thanks....I love Raptors! Definitely my favorite birds to photograph. For me (personal preference)..... I only like to photograph birds in the wild rather than the ones that pose for you at Zoo's and Refuge centers...makes it a little more challenging.
