Asher suggested this could be a good fun challenge, so here is an open invitation for you to post your own 'Postcards from the Edge' and make our own collection of holiday photos for sharing. You could even send pictures to the OPF community from vacation if your away!

Please post something!

Mike Shimwell: A postcard from Southwold

Dear Mike,

Thanks for the postcard. It's great that you think of us when you go on vacation. The photographer caught the light behind the buildings on the shore and the water is made metallic by the golden light skimming across the dark water. I'd love to go there too. That's what post cards do to us! You picked a good one!

Mike, the postcard is beautiful ( shouldn't they be ? ). The place though seems cold at sunset. Must ask
my travel agent what it looks like in the sun?

Wild parties at night would do too!!

Best.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, it was pretty cold out on the pier by the time I took this, but a rare couple of days with just Sue, while the children stayed the nigt with friends...

Funny how quickly we start to miss them, but a day is nice from time to time to allow us to remember each other!

Southwold is a lovely town, home to many artists due to the wonderful ight that pervades the Suffolk coast and also home to Adnams Brewery, which is one of Britain's finest. The town has quite an old fashioned feel and the beach and pier are a traditional holiday destination for many. The beach huts, that you may be able to make out, fetch some very high prices apparently.
