Paths - a recurring theme

Fahim - smashing and evocative shot with mist and softness.

Winston - the leaves scattered across the path make this for me. I can imagine an early morning run or bike ride along the path and being the first to use it in the new morning.

Here's another that has been shown here before, but fits the pattern.

Mike.

Hi Ken,

Having seen these fantastic pictures previously on your web site, I should say that it is a joy to re-acquaintance with them here in OPF, thanks a lot for sharing.

Cheers,

Portions of the green belt are on top of a levee that borders the river. This was taken on a foggy morning.

Hi Winston,

This is truly an excellent image. You have captured the scene very well and made use of the fog along the way to add depth and mystery to the path. Thanks for showing this :)

The path is unmarked, unseen..only the wind and a prayer

Lovely collection from all you folks..keep 'em coming..

Some paths have to be walked on..as you create your own where none existed..

A message from heaven. To go to heaven, I'd have expected the reversed direction of the lines. This is a most amazing photograph! I'm so glad that I purloined Mike's picture and we eventually got you to dig up this remarkable and unique image for us!

Ruben, Cem, Ruben and Janet, (let me know if I miss someone), these pictures only get better!

Cem, when did you take that? Fahim, were you just holding back on the flag image?

Ruben just your 2 cents, LOL? That first image is remarkable and the second should have come from Cedric Massoulier, making one think of French Philosophers.

Maybe slightly tenuous, but perhaps a Ghost crossed your path today...

It's great that so many people are contributing pictures. Thanks you everyone.

Ah, so it is true then! The more to the north one travels on the island, the higher the chances of running into ghosts somewhere. Is this a recent one Mike? In other words, how's the weather right now? There was snow in Dusseldorf the other day when I went to visit Nicolas. Over here, nothing at all.

I like the atmosphere and the tonality of this image. Was it a digital capture?

Cheers,

Hi Cem

Thanks. As this is from the 1Ds3 I can tell you that it was captured at 07:05:09 on 5 Jan 2010! The black and white is all in Lightroom and I didn't use any noise reduction (iso800 pushed by about a stop) as I like a bit of texture in these.

The snows all gone (for) now and I've been out on the bike a few times in the last week.

Mike

Edited to add - 1/15 at f2 using the 50/1.4 handheld from our bedroom window.

Here is another one, which I have shown a few years back (sorry for repeating myself but I think it is relevant to this theme):

Bravo everyone!

My comments are brief now but, there's a lot to speak about, such a lot! But you all of you already know that, when you're moved by these images, touching every crevice of our hearts and mind. This is one of the very best collections I've seen.

Each one of the showings in this collection is unique and moves some part within us. Each one is beautiful in its own way and though one might prefer this over that, that is a subjective decision only. Lovely work by all the contributors. Thanks for this thread Mike.

Mike, this presentation of yours is beautiful for it conveys to me the cold of winter. The fleeting snow
with the ghosts that walk thru it. Superb. Well done.

Best.
