"Never Stop Exploring!" How do you feed such drive? How do you do it? These were the questions I have now that another vacation is coming. It's been 3 months since my last shoot in the Islands of Dumaguete, Siquijor and Apo but still it brings back memories of the sheer adventure I've had. I want to do it again!

Leyte/Tacloban keeps popping out of the picture but where and how do I start? The place is huge and rumored to be filled with NPA and hilohilo (locals put poison in food). I'm stuck! It's in a meeting with fellow Cebu Digital Photographers that we finally narrowed down the Next Safari. With everything that has been said I braved this trip with two things in mind Landscape and to Reflect. Allow me to present my Escape to Northern Samar in a quaint Island called BIRI.

Karlo,

This is a wonderful scene and you deserve to be congratulated in your great spirit that sends you on this hunting trips to find beauty and solace. I wonder about the exposure being to bright here. I'd consider using separate RAW processing for the clouds, water, surf and grass as they are too different to do in one go. So here the picture has ended up rather light.

Still, it's fabulous as a sight!

I was, at first perplexed by your Kenko 8 ND filter until I realized that it allowed for your long exposure. Presumably you want to build up a foamy milky surf. However, one loses detail in the waves! I'd love to see any pictures where you still used the Singh Ray 3 graded ND filter to tame the sky but shot at say 1/50 sec or so.

A lot of folk love the long exposure effect especially in waterfalls, so much so that it's almost standard and expected! However, leaves moves and there are no birds!

Hope to see more!

Any references to the poisoning of food? That's disconerting for a tourist or a prospective son in law if they don't happen to like you!
