Yes, the sun doesn't always shown down here...... but it was a fantastic end to the Easter weekend

Johann,

This s a superb set of clouds over the relatively peaceful water with the long boat being the only detail down below that's of real compelling interest. The strengths of the picture are the clouds and the horizontal strips. Why not strengthen these boldly in one stroke and cut of everything at the lower portion leaving just 1/4 nch of water to contain the boat. Very severe, yes, but worth considering. After all, we want the picture to be dstnct from all other sunsets and cut out a space for people to remember this one.

Thanks Stuart and Asher

Good points Asher - here are two variations:

I think the bottom (ocean and boat) needs to be brightened up just a little. Agree ?

Johann,

I think we can evaluate your new versions better f they are separated, one from another, so they do not overlap in influence and aura. Without a lot of white space, pictures with delicate tonality get degraded.

Now we can look at them. The title is just tentative only to give them respect!

Thanks Asher - will remember for future posts. Just not very sure how much space to allow (keeping in mind different monitor sizes and resolutions)

Something I have always thought would be nice is a feature on the site (and not only OPF) that allows one to view the image full-screen and against a variable choice of gray-scale background.
