hi hi,

I grew up making traditional fine prints - learned my trade from a few good makers - I avoided having a real Dslr but now i have one... used phones mostly until recently

I guess I would describe myself as a picture maker - I have had a good look around and feel I need some feedback and should also give some in a forum that looks as if there are makers who work not just in the singular but in series and sequence to create a narrative.

That said below is a single image – it’s called deka and the visitor...

dekaandthevisitor.jpg

its a very small image btw - seems to have been broken by the interweb!! its only 8.57 cm / 11.27 @ 72 dpi

I will add some more work to the other forums...

Thanks for reading!

Welcome Mark!

Yes we do like to see all types of photography and relate to the needs and intent of the photographer if we can. I personally have also been interested in incorporation of shadows.

Look forward to more.

its good to be here so to speak.

the image is a question from the maker - to himself. is this real. is this it. is it over or just starting.... the cave "Plato's Cave " always comes in shadows and there depiction for me.

the framed image broken by the light from outside of the image - tradition confirmed by the refection of the maker and at the same time broken. an established order overturned..

or just a guy finding being a father a strange wonderful and sometimes scary journey into the unknown..

i have a self portrait from the same time

Love it! You have to love a shooter that's a bit left of center!
I think you'll fit in here quite well!
Welcome!
