Hello Leo,

I am not angry with anyone!

Disagreement, expressed in a civil and respective manner with due regard to social norms, is essential for understanding and to clear up any misunderstanding/s. More importantly to learn from each other for the benefit of both.

I am sure Asher cares much more for the unfortunate than he lets on. My issue was in regards to Asher's comments about the possible consequences of a physician's work. No more, no less.

Best.

Yeah, I don't get where is the point between you and him, that's why I said it's a matter between you and him.
Sorry for the word "angry", it was the first that came to my mind. I don't manage my English so well.

Well, that's all :)

Hope you both are okay!

Leo :)

I didn't realize I had given an impression that I was challenged in that way! If your read my posts here on wars and distribution of resources or Darfur, then my thoughts would be satisfy any concern.

Fahim,

My comments stand. I received immediate gratification to see the folk others and I contributed caring for, get well. Still, this doesn't occur in a vacuum. We cannot ignore the consequence of our actions. I'm just asking that one has second thoughts about patting oneself on the back when we do only part of a job!

Somehow I missed this. I like the portrait a great deal. More importantly, though, it raises an issue I struggle with.

Many people take photos of others in public routinely. In fact, it seems to be a very acceptable practice, and journalists make their livings that way. Me, I have big issues with photographing people without permission. That's MY persona choice, and MY own orientation. I don't feel knowledgeable enough to make a determination.

However, I would love to see a thorough discussion of the issue here on OPF. Perhaps a new thread would serve that purpose. Does anyone have interest in such a discussion?

We have to see what was said before. I believe we have touched on this a number of times, but it's always worthy of revisiting.

Then, if I might suggest, could we do it in a new thread that references no specific image? If people want to suggest images to make a point, fine. But I'd like to start it neutral with the an academic-type focus.

You have the opportunity just one time: or you get it, or you lose it, there are not grays in some circumstances and I personally prefer regretting of things I do instead those I didn't :)

Happiness for you!

the shot is deeply insightful and a beautiful look at all of us- I feel the same as you do in that direction- "we are what we photograph"
there is no denying humanity is full of life and a photo reflects back to who we all are- Nice work!
I didn't see this shot but I do now and really love it-
