I had taken all the ' necessary ' shots of Istanbul. Done the touristy things. She wanted to go to spend the day walking through the Palace.

Me, I told her I wanted to see Istanbul. Feel it.

Walked along the back streets...

Took a ferry...$10/=

People going to their work, school, life as it is lived. Kept going. Left the tourists behind.
Got off at a terminal, seemed an unhurried place. half an hour from the Center.

Away from the Glitz of Sultan Ahmet...

Sat down at a cafe, to have breakfast. By the Bosphorus. Beautiful Houses.

Unhurried..But still not what I had coming looking for.
Walked, looked, clicked..and there it was.

I had come to Istanbul not to see but to feel. I wanted to be one with Istanbul..Bosphorus, the people
of this Great Strait. I knew how I was going to spend my day. We shared stories. family, life, economy,
the hopes and fears. I had found Istanbul. I still had $15 left over for dinner, for the two of us.

I can't believe that noone has commented on these yet. What a treat from 'the other side' of Istambul. The side I am thinking is your side, the one with people in it.

The last shot sums up the series really well, though I'd likely sharpen his face a bit less:)

A true Yorkshire lad Mike. Generous and a thorough gentleman. Thank you kindly sir.

To be honest, since I first got the fisherman ready for the web, the sharpening has been bothering me; and so too has the ' s' curve I applied. You are very correct. I shall dig up the org. and have a go again, later.

Best regards to you and yours.

Fahim, you make my head spin!
Non-stop glimpses of far-away places (at least to me!).
Never a "tourist", always an observer.
I imagine I hear things in the views you offer.
I imagine I can smell the waterfronts, the alleys and such.

Thank you for allowing me to accompany you and your beloved.

John, it would be a delight and pleasure to have you with us along on our journeys. Imagine the things we could learn from from each other.

That you enjoy my photographs of places we visit, is high reward and encouragement for us.

My kindest regards to you and your family.

Fahim, I have to echo John's comments. It is wonderful to accompany you on your travels and to see the 'real' side of your visits.
