UN CIEL DANS UNE FLEUR SAUVAGE​ Une exposition de photographies et vidéo de Nicolas Claris et Romain Claris VERNISSAGE Vendredi 20 janvier 2023 18h30 - 21h30 En présence des artistes​ Un ciel dans une fleur sauvage joue sur un équilibre. Celui du noir stellaire et intime qui répond au blanc immaculé et fragile de l'éveil. Deux générations travaillent en écho. Chacun traduit, avec son langage propre, une situation initiale partagée. Ainsi, chaque série exposée présente une vidéo (Romain Claris) et une sélection de photographies (Nicolas Claris). Les deux se répondent ainsi et, comme pour un haiku, c'est dans la césure, le vide entre les deux univers convoqués par ces images, que se construit cette exposition-poème. Plus d'informations Paroles de galeriste Lorsque j'ai découvert le travail de Nicolas Claris et Romain Claris j'ai tout de suite été frappée par la puissance poétique des deux pratiques, le "voir" juste. Tous deux issus de l'univers de la communication, l'esthétique est léchée, les contours sont nets, la plastique raffinée. Puis arrive la faille, le pli, qui nous ramène à cette réalité triviale, presque sauvage. "Un ciel dans une fleur sauvage" est composée de deux séries jamais dévoilées en galerie à Bordeaux, une exposition dédiée au travail des deux artistes, dont la sélection s'est imposée comme une évidence. Ces deux séries se conjuguent en dialogue, "Un peu de rouge pourtant" et "On The Rocks" (inédite), synthétisent cette opposition intrinsèque aux deux pratiques, celle de la photo et de la vidéo, pour ne faire qu'une et convoquer alors deux visions qui s’expriment à l'unisson, entre clarté et profondeur, noblesse et humilité. En tandem, la beauté figée par l'objectif photographique de Nicolas Claris s'anime au moment où Romain Claris prend le relais avec sa caméra. Ces deux regards se croisent, s'enchevêtrent, se mêlent et s'imbriquent en écho... ainsi ils parviennent par un tour de force à capter dans l'immédiateté d'une beauté furtive une lumière, un instant magnifié par une splendeur éclatante grâce aux prismes des deux complices. A sky in a wild flower plays on a balance. That of stellar and intimate black that responds to the immaculate and fragile white of awakening.

Two generations work together. Each translates, with its own language, a shared initial situation. Thus, each series exhibited presents a video (Romain Claris) and a selection of photographs (Nicolas Claris).

The two respond to each other in this way and, as for a haiku, it is in the caesura, the void between the two universes summoned by these images, that this exhibition-poem is constructed.

“When I discovered the work of Nicolas Claris and Romain Claris I was immediately struck by the poetic power of the two practices, just "seeing". Both come from the world of communication, the aesthetics are licked, the contours are clear, the plastic refined.

Then comes the fault, the fold, which brings us back to this trivial, almost wild reality. "A sky in a wild flower" is made up of two series never before unveiled in a gallery in Bordeaux, an exhibition dedicated to the work of the two artists, whose selection has become obvious.

These two series combine in dialogue, "A little red yet" and "On The Rocks" (unpublished), synthesize this intrinsic opposition to the two practices, that of photography and video, to become one and summon then two visions which are expressed in unison, between clarity and depth, nobility and humility. In tandem, the beauty frozen by the photographic lens of Nicolas Claris comes to life when Romain Claris takes over with his camera.
These two gazes intersect, intertwine, mingle and intertwine in echo... thus they manage by a tour de force to capture in the immediacy of a furtive beauty a light, a moment magnified by a dazzling splendor thanks to the prisms of the two accomplices.”
