While most of the city slept, the hardy maintenance crew was at work. I was there with them, they
working with steel, me working with nikon/zeiss. my job was way simple.

My hats off to these hard working folks.

Steel,thick steel, dirt,grime,sweat so that the trams run safely in the morning.

Great stuff Fahim - I'm usually to tired to go shooting at 2am, to the point that I failed to pick up my camera when some 'youths' set fire to a car just in front of our house a few weeks ago.

I really appreciate the sktchy nature of the conversion - presumably high iso and pushed?

How come you found them? In any case, I like the fact that you discovered them and how fundamental a part in the city's life they are. Imagine if they didn't show up? Which Nikon and Zeiss? Looks like film! Any more in the series. The fellow on the left is really intense. I like the reality of it. One can imagine the central depot waiting to hear that the rails were now OK.

My hotel was not far from here, and could see that work was being done. had established a very good rapport with all hotel staff and the shopkeepers on the street. the tramline staff were very friendly and we all sat down and knocked our heads together to solve a problem confronting us. The steel was too thick and the the drill base would not fix properly to the rails! 1+1 =4!

Sorry this is digital, nikon d300,zf35/2, iso 2500,alienskin exposure 2 at neopan 1600, i have some more in color not very good iam afraid. shall try to cs3 with them and get back to you.

unless one gets into the scene, forms a rapport with the thing to be pictured in my opinion it remains
devoid of something...the soul of the people or the moment.
