A little brick and mortar exposure again

I was just taking a couple more pics of my printer, and accidentally found out that hidden under the bottom paper feed holder, is a plastic tray for printing CD and DVD’s. I had no idea. Not that I will ever use it - but it’s there. 20 years ago when I delivered client files and proofs on DVD’s I used to use printable media and print using my Epson R2400 pigment ink printer. They were decent looking.

This is the bottom feeder paper cartridge that does a really nice job of duplex double sided printing. Small 4x6 and 5x7 photo paper sizes can also be kept in there.

I haven’t printed any 13”x19” paper on this printer, but I do have a box of 11”x17” that I have used to print quite a few zine covers (they get folded in have for 8-1/2 x11) as well as 11x14 prints for framing.

Of course one of the greatest pleasures from having a good quality printer to print my own work, is to fill sections of the walls in our home with our memories.

We have one collection of 6 of the artisans in Central America and Europe that I have photographed. Several created some of the unique hand made items that we have displayed in our home. These standard 8x10 prints in 11x14 matching frames are on a wall in our living room.

We also have a collection of 9 images of our trip last year to the Netherlands, Belgium and England - framed in simple frames from Amazon on our bedroom wall were Anne and I are constantly reminded of our amazing trip.

I’m not concerned about the longevity of the dye based inks for these. If they eventually fade, I can easily preprint fresh. On the other hand, their usefulness will not last forever and the frames will get switched out with prints of different adventures.
