A slice of Southern France ...In Japan?

Hi all,

Here's a little tour of a village in the countryside of Saga Prefecture, on the island of Kyushu in Japan.
However, it's a kind of model village supposedly set up in the theme of Southern French Village.
I've never been to Southern France so I can't justify that there's a similarity in landscape....can anyone who's travelled Southern France see a resemblance?

if having hills, sky and farm do make a resemblance, then!

I was raised in South-East of France, what we can see on this website doesn't make me feel homesick… !

If you're interested to see how Southern France does look like, you may google "photo provence" for south-east and "photo aquitaine" for the south-west…
South-East is largely mediterranean looking (aka Italy and Spain) with much dry weather.
On the opposite South-west landscapes are influenced by Atlantic Ocean, much more wet! (that's where I live now, inBordeaux).
