My World: after the rain

Hi,

we had some really bad rainy days here during August, but sometimes the sun did a break-through ...
We used these "shortcuts" for small hikes in the nearby mountainaereas and we gained some impressive views and light...

Your hike paid of handsomely! What a stunningly dramatic picture! Kudos. An unusual feature - such dynamic clouds that seem to be either rejoicing or protesting, I'm not sure!

The green hillside has interesting topography - either walls and terracing that has been overgorwn with grass or else the result of burrowing by rodents! Moles, voles, chipmunks, gophers - what's going on?

No no, just simply austrian or swiss cows ... Over the years they make their ways along the hills, when they are in the alps during summer.
It is an old tradition to move the cows up the mountains during summer, as the grass there is much better than down in the valleys and by the way the meadows up the mountains are kept clean from trees and bushes.

That must be worth more hiking and pictures, too! But Wolfgang, those very strong steps up the side of the mountain must have some underlying structure then. Perhaps this represents underlying strata of tectonic-geological plate shifts, with breaking of some layers. Then the soil and grass just covers it with a lush green surface.
