Oh, how we can get tied up in our technical toys to get our story across.
But even the best artist must eat and sleep.

Christine and I spent quite some time discussing this over afternoon tea.
The first photo is of Eric who comes from a community filled with such artists. People were quite happy to take his photo and he was happy to accommodate. Its expected in such a place filled with tourists.
In the second shot people were less inclined to photo Joe, Eric's cousin. When I pointed by camera I sensed the distain of the people nearby. I received a very dirty look from one passer by.
Mind you, there's enough prejudice in this place to create the physical space around him without worrying about what else people might have in mind. The very act of me taking this photograph is enough to blemish my fine reputation in the eyes of some and to receive looks of disgust at the resulting image.
Some people just don't get it.

Tom - it looks bloody hot in these - the light sears and crackles. are there more like these?
your thoughts about sleep and the taboo of sleeping in public are interesting - i like the idea even ironically of sleep becoming or being a performance.
cheers
Actually, Mark, it was quite a cool day. It got below 20 deg C before the sun came up and managed to stay just below 35 deg C all day. Locals were wearing their hoodies and Ugg boots.
If sleep is a performance art, I'm an expert.
Cheers

Scotland almost stopped last week when it hit 25 c - people were melting.
