Christopher street day is the name of the gay, lesbian, transgender, queer, kinky, etc... parade in Munich. The 2011 edition took place last saturday, on 9/7.

Good documentary! The first shows cooperation, the second delightful wackiness to the nth.
I'm so glad that all the folk get their day in the sunshine and have fun as a community wide event. There's a lot of pride, tension, prayers and disappointments behind all the makeup.
More pictures are needed to tell the story!

Jerome - thanks for showing, both capture the atmosphere well. Initially I wanted to go and have a look, but then I changed mind.

Thank you for the kind comments. Apparently, this parade attracts more comments than the last one.
Since Michael talks about capturing the atmosphere, and because it is Munich, Bavaria, I have no choice but present the Schwuhplattler. The word is a pun between "Schuhplattler" (a traditional Bavarian dance) and "Schwul" (homosexual).
Where else than in Munich do gay men parade in traditional clothes? And yes, they perform the dance as well.

Love the series jerome, thanks for sharing. This looks a bit different compared to the pink saturday gay parade we have over here. One national parade was held right here in my hometown 4 years ago, I will dig up some pics if you want to see?

These parades are a great opportunity for interesting captures, good job. Telling by your photos, I think the Gay Parade in New York is a little spicier, here in Panama they had a parade too a few days ago.

Well... I am not posting the spicy pictures, but I could post some if it is OK with the forum. Actually, I posted more spicy pictures the last time (together with a warning that the thread might not be safe to watch at work) and I had no comments, so I reasoned that more spicy pictures were not wanted.
