That's the best snakey shot I've seen since John Shaw's rattler was gonna take its fangs to your juggler and disable the whole circus.

You have a point- just seems a shame that the pose has the rattles on the same plane as the head and that couldn't be taken advantage of. I do realize that these shots are hard to come by, and don't allow much experimentacion.
I do think that a bit of blur on the right side would put the emphasis back on the more important parts.

In this case, I tried to get the nose - the dof does fall off quickly, but the eye is still pretty sharp...

I wanted the rattles to be a blur - they are just kool to have inthe picture..

I'll have to dig thru the pix - took 20 or 30 of this pose...

I still like the first crop better. I think it is sharp enough- it is just that the heavy part of the body being in focus distracts from the head.
