Fahim,

You have created an imaginary arena in the center that we can envision a stay cat, dog or child perhaps looking for its parents. So the image has interest because it's missing this central subject. I've never felt this before about a picture.

There are several great potential main subjects, but you've suppressed them in your processing. I'm intrigued as this is unusual for anyone and certainly for you.

Too contrasty for me. I'd like to see the contours (at least) of the face under the umbrella. Although the subject is a bit too far left, I think it still works and is interesting subject matter. However, the high contrast reduces my ability to look around.

Hi Fahim,

The contrast is way too high indeed. Are you perhaps working on a laptop which has a high luminosity monitor? That might be a reason if it wasn't you're intent to push the contrast this much. Please ignore my comments if it was intentional.

Just to offer a different view:

Some seem to be focused on the individuals, but what do we see here?

It is a street scene - we have a café in Paris (I remember walking past it ~20y ago), rain and people sheltering from the rain.
What do we want to see?
When walking past the café in real life, does everyone notice every face while seeking shelter himself? I beg to differ.
So it is not the scene recorded photograpically, but rather the impression someone has in that very moment.

Was this the intention?

Best regards,
Michael

I like this image and I don't mind the high contrast the lines, shape, light and composition work for me.
