Architecture - not orthogonal and yet...

Hi, Michael,

Different view, no orthophotography, but still somehow orthogonal:

Pleasing? Not? You decide.

Well, unless you tell me whether or not this is "art", I would have no way to know whether it is pleasing or not.

If it's not art, I think it is very nice.

If it is art, I guess I would have to have it appraised first.

Thanks for sharing.

Best regards,

Doug

What did you mean by "it is nice"? "Nice that it is not art?" Or else "Nice, as I enjoy looking at it"?

Hi, Asher,

What did you mean by "it is nice"? "Nice that it is not art?"

If I had meant that, I would have said, "That is nice".

Or else "Nice, as I enjoy looking at it"?

There are many nice things that at which I do not enjoy looking.

And many things at which I enjoy looking that are not nice.

But that image is just nice.

Best regards,

Doug

Doug,

But then what do mean in this context, as "nice" is usually applied to sweet things like cakes. If Nigel's picture does indeed gives you enjoyment, you may risk having made it de facto "art", I'm afraid!

Hi, Asher,

Doug,

But then what do mean in this context, as "nice" is usually applied to sweet things like cakes.

Or a really precise cut made with a wood plane.

Or a pleasant child.

Or a pleasant vacation.

If Nigel's picture does indeed gives you enjoyment, you may risk having made it de facto "art", I'm afraid!

Aucune horreur.

It was art long before I saw it - just not in this forum.

Best regards,

Doug

Asher,

Thanks. Pictures that maybe do not have the big impact right away, but invite people to come back is what I hope to acheive. It is not about the 'stunning' image, forgotten a few moments later over the nest stunning image.

I like to look up - a way to see different thing - looking down is equally important - not only to avoid falling over something...

I have some 'looking up' pictures and will post these in another thread.

Best regards,
Michael

Similar to the comment I made on the other architecture photos - - too static and no story. Nice lines - -YES. That would make a nice backdrop for something to happen! If you like that background, wait with camera - for hours if you have to - for something to happen. Otherwise, it's a scene I see a million times.
