Australia: Balls & No Trump = No SARS CoV-2!

How is it we can’t learn from Australia. One needs to isolate, test, trace and quarantine and then one gets to stop infections!

A bit of pain, a lot of gain!

Don’t assume the process was less than painful for some. Lockdown in Victoria was harsh. It needed to be. Confidence was getting out of hand, mostly caused by different parts of the government and general population letting their guild down or simply ignoring the responsibility each of us has for others during such a time.

Despite the criticism thrown at the decision makers, the front man stood his ground, calmly and methodically. He took the advice of the medical experts and altered the course of a possible disaster. Fortunately, the population generally saw the wisdom of his ways or responded to the threat of fines and gaol time.

But it’s not over yet. Extreme caution is built into every decision made. Quarantine still exists with some areas of the population and crossing of boarders is heavily secured. Businesses are still restricted as to numbers and space, public transport is still a risk.

In general, people have seen the need for the actions taken Australia wide. They have been compliant, patient and tolerant.
Besides, it’s too ducking hot to get excited. I went for a cycle this arvo and went quite wobbly after about 15 minutes.
Even the bougainvillea plant keeled over and died on me. A worm wondered into the pavement and instantly turned to a piece of string. Birds are sting on poached eggs.

In spite of the heat I’m grateful once more for living where I do. I look briefly at other countries and although they might me nice to visit I’m very content with my neighbours and politicians. They’re such a laid back lot.

So Tom,

If we are to benefit from the hard learned lessons in Australia, what would you tell our government to do to stop the spread and death toll?

Don’t get me started.

Too late.

It’s to just the people in power, although they could do with a bit of rational thinking.

For starters, I’d suggested a decent education for most. Work on the sciences, health, geography and English.

Then get rid of religion.

Inform the population that US is not the greatest country by a long shot.

Put some Valium in the water so the population calms the fuck down

Ban firearms for everyone.

Stop calling blacks black and whites white. In fact, stop putting some other country in front of American when identifying nationality.

Don’t make any more comedy tv or movies. American humor isn’t funny.

That’s a start for today. It should clear the air a bit for some common sense to prevail.

It’s an attitude thing, you see.
Some call it culture, others might refer to it as bad manners.
As a whole, US citizens are probably nice people deep inside where they live.
But when the shit hits the fan or they need to formulate an opinion things go haywire.
I heard once it’s the cheese they eat; what’s taken as cheese anyhow.
Personally I thing it’s the uncomfortable place they feel themselves in; like wearing underwear that’s two sizes too small.

It all started back when Columbus thought he’d found a new country. Much like Australia, he took it on himself to grab it for his queen, then remove any inhabitants he might find that he hadn’t noticed before. The rest just followed.

Then the. New residents decided they didn’t want to do the hard yards so they grabbed a few people from other places to do it for them. The workers were consoled my getting fuck all for they labour.

Then some clown decided to free the workers. Sounds reasonable, but the people who had the workers disliked working so much they tried to kill of all the people who wanted to give the workers freedom.

Somewhere among this hullabaloo everyone got the idea that guns were a household item like toothbrushes and a horse.
Trouble is they’d didnt have anyone to shoot, so they started shooting each other.

This was all mixed in with a dab of good old religion. Did you know religion provides an excuse for just about anything? They even invented a few of their own religions, and banned a couple of others.

Of course, to show what nice people they really are they invited others to join them. The Italians and Jews seemed to fit in but the Mexicans and anyone with a decently tan were considered rubbish. Still are.

Education became important about ten years back. Up til then the population couldn’t drive in a straight line. Nor did they realise there where other countries out there belong the horizon. Still don’t.

But racism never left! Being black means as a youth, after dark, there’s a target on your back

One of our delusions! I’d you trust the police so much, why do you need guns

Most have no idea of the origins of belief, they inherit the meme, just like grandmother’s China!

Of course, to show what nice people they really are they invited others to join them. The Italians and Jews seemed to fit in but the Mexicans and anyone with a decently tan were considered rubbish. Still are.

Here need to Give you a brief eye opener: the very excellently pale blue eyes Irish were considered just cheap almost slave labor to build the railroads and homes and work in factories. They had no status nor rights and children were used to plant explosives in the rocks to open routes for the railroads!

Chinese, almost white, were not considered human persons and were banned from living on Los Angeles! Killing a Chinese man was not murder as the victim wasn’t a person!

Education became important about ten years back. Up til then the population couldn’t drive in a straight line. Nor did they realise there where other countries out there belong the horizon. Still don’t.

The major “Achilles Heel”, of the USA is it’s largely uneducated population who see freedom means owning a gun and hating anyone who is not like them, especially people of color and non-Protestants!

Worse, even the educated 50% have little training in logic, deduction, methods of proof for the basics of science, genetics and evolution to be able to grasp the concepts needed to fight infectious viruses and infectious memes!

I was, of course, exaggerating somewhat.

Thanks for your reflection Ash.

Any of us could do the same for our own culture.
To a large extent, cultural adherence encourages such idiotic behaviour.

Generally, the preservation of cultural memes does not harm. Wearing a funny hat or dancing in leather pants looks like fun in a weird way. But there’s a persistence with some thought bubbles that has generated animosity, even violence and certainly a great deal of hatred and tension.

I abhor the word ‘race’ and all its derivatives. It has the effect of division which, in turn, generates suspicion and greed.

As a single over riding factor in American history, the recognition of individuals being allocated to a race has been the most disturbing influence on politics and socialisation. Then comes religion without a doubt.

We, like all populations have had our fair share as well. For a planet who seems to think unity might win the day, division is high on everyone’s list.

Love one another is rhetorical bullshit.

Divide and conquer seems to fit better into current moods.

America seems to be demonstrating their inner hatred and distrust of the next man in line, in every aspect of their daily lives.

It’s a distorted reflection of what has been going on in other places. America shows distain at what is happening in China, the Middle East, Africa, South America, Mexico, south east Asia, etc yet they display the same ideologies and responses they abhor elsewhere.

I know a few Americans, such as yourself. They are frightened by what is happening. They are the educated ones, the ones with insight, with broad experiences, with values that others benefit from.

It appears that the ‘family’ of the US has a spoilt child in its midst. And it ain’t just Trump. It’s a culture and it’s been the instigator of what’s happening right now across your country.

Work with the next generations. Their your only hope of survival.

Unfortunately, right now poor Vietnamese fisherman in fragile wooden boats who eke out a meager living of $100 a day for the crew are getting attacked and sunk!

They are now are getting rammed every day by Chinese patrol boats made of steel and sunk!

The South China sea is shared resources rich treasure-trove for many coastal nations.

But China is doing a massive imperialist power grab! Several barely above water islands of coral have been reinforced by massive dredging and concrete overlays. They now boast intimidating airfields misde batteries and radar emplacements to essentially racially extend the distant Chinese coast to this stolen imaginary “Chinese” territory and so allow fraudulent claim to international waters and Internationally recognized of their maritime neighbors

Strangely Australia, NZ and a bunch of other countries joined a free trade area run by China that replaces the one Trump crazily withdrew from!

I woukd get islands from the Thais and Vietnamese and build our own militarized opposing airfields to neutralize the Chines sea grab!

Frankly, if the keto acting aggressively, I would stop all trade with the Chinese and let them be friends with Russia, Pakistan and Iran!

They have to release the one million Ukgar civilians from concentration camps and stop selling the organs on the world market!

We should preferentially import from Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan! We can use all your iron ore!
