Last year their Nest fell with the 2 Juvi's were in it when it went down. They were saved when we called Audubon.

We weren't sure if they would be back for a 10th season but we we pleased to see the did. Tree isn't wide open like the previous years but can't complain since I can walk up to the tree!!

Has anyone worked out the logic behind this nest construction? Does it start out as a stochastic mess and then the soft part os woven according to some neater plan?

Asher,

Get ready for this tidbit of information! The Eagles only gather sticks for the nest between sunrise (7:20 a.m.) and 9:15 a.m.
They fly back and forth without much rest between those times. The males does 90% of the retrieval while the female arranges them. She too will fly out but not that often.

Had a fun session with the camera this morning!!!

These guys obviously belong to some Eagles Union! Now do they restart with twigs the next day? What about the straw or is that out of fashon with these giant birds and they use feathers instead?
