Basking in the early evening sun by the lake - ORB WEAVER SPIDER.

Anne and I were walking along a boardwalk in the early evening and noticed this fellow stretched out on its web. I was equally intrigued by the shadow it was casting on the wall behind. I would loved to have had my serious macro gear with me, but didn’t miss the opportunity even though my iPhone has limited close up ability.
