Fahim,

Where is this?

Everyone here has a super bubbling over high spirit. So wonderfully human. These are the best of times and you caught the energy and fun in each person! I love it and wish this for your grandchildren and everyone else here! :)

Thank you Asher. We too wish the same energy and happiness for everyone's children.

This is in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Ubud is the cultural and religious soul of Bali. An artist's town.
Laid back, elegant. Away from the beach tourists and nightlife down south.

To know a place, try to get to know its people. I stayed in Ubud for more than I had planned to do. Much more.

Regards.

Hey Fahim, I admire you being there always finding worthy subjects and ready to take the picture, what I would like to see in this one though, is a little more of they're situation and surroundings.

Regards...

Exactly! After all, Fahim, you lingered! Who wouldn't, these folk are irresistible. I am a sucker for the really honestly happy moments you seem to be able to gather!

Asher, Paul, Maggie..thanks a lot for stopping by and the generous comments.

I posted quite a few images from Bali sometime ago, but some links are broken, some are not what they were supposed to be..my fault.

I shall post again; apologies as most shall be reposts from the archives.

Kindest regards.

I generally am not very good at wide. My comfort zone is narrow. Narrow vision!

Here is a market, I stopped by. It was raining. A few minutes ago it was a torrential downpour.

A quick snapshot to set the cam...

These type of images are not what I like to make. I am not moved by them. I approached the lady , asked if I could take a picture..

Most of my images are like the one above, so please bear with me. But they are from the streets for the most part.

And then there were some people, who I would never think of approaching closer..as a matter of fact, I was well prepared behind my little motorbike!!

Denpasar is the main city. On the coast. That's where the hotel chains are. The bulk of the tourists from down under. The nightlife and the bars. The beach parties and the noise. The Pizza Huts and the Big Mac. Such has never been my scene.

Ari met me at Denpasar airport, and we made our journey to Ubud. About 2 hours up in the mountains.
Spend a few days at the beach, said Ari. Make friends. I intended to. But not in the seaside resorts.

I prefer the quiet. Take my time. Not be hurried. I am retired. No schedules to keep. Miss a flight, catch another one. Relax!!

Enjoy a gamelan ensemble, or just chill out with selected instruments playing traditional music..

or pull up your paddy rubber boots and wade in. Meet the people; take your time.
Bali should not be hurried. Savor the greenery, strike up a conversation..sign language shall do.
