The blue paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone cyanescens) is a species of bird in the Monarchidae family. It is endemic to the Philippines.

It is mainly found in the understory of lowland primary and secondary forests, however populations are likely to be declining owing to habitat loss.

Most newcomers here introduce themselves with some background of where they are in the planet and in life. You, instead give us a present of a startlingly blue flycatcher! Still, I must interrupt thinking about the bird to give you a hearty handshake and welcome!

I love the color and the shot. The branch it is resting on appears to be from a monocot type plant. Is it a bamboo?
