The Sonnar is a very nice lens, but actually the humble canon 50 1.4 is OK too. Just an ebay ad shot, but the transition to oof struck me as nice in this one.

That's a pretty cool fade out Mike.

As a side note, I rarely venture beyond f4 with the m mounts. The sonnar after f5.6 has enough dof
to cover up for any focus shifts. I have the planar too ( ! ) and it is a pair of scissors. If you get used
to the sonnar, doubt you would use the planar. more contrasty than the sonnar. I feel it is a little big
for f2 on an m.

Try a hexanon 50/1.2...beautiful lens with a rendering to die for.

When I took this shot, I was thinking about our discussions re: the oof areas. here the m sonnar 1.5
performs admirably in difficult lighting and a hastily take snap.
