The fish or the other tern? Seems to me it's already already on the way to being swallowed whole, or do they fly off with it and rip off the flesh. In that case other birds would grab some too.

Well the bird with the fish ended up with the fish.
Asher...I believe they usually take the fish and eat somewhere in peace. I am thinking this guy was trying to down the fish in flight to avoid letting the other bird get it! Isn't nature fun to watch?!!
