Changeable Weather

There's a saying here that if you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes and it'll change. One day the weather is late summer with temperatures around 90° (32°) and the next, poof, summer's gone. There were 4 forest fires burning at the time the largest of which threatened the historic Lake Lodge on Yellowstone Lake. This accounts for the haze in the first image.

On this day all the fires were put out!

Hi Steve

I've come back to look at these two a couple of times, they interest me, particularly the second one.

It's the sort of scene that I have driven by countless times, thinking it would look too grey and uninviting to bother photographing, but you've shown me that I was wrong..... I think this works really well, it's atmospheric, and conveys the feeling of a very cold, and windy place, the dead and fallen trees so clearly show that.

I think that I will remember this shot when I'm next out in the wilds somewhere in the cold, but next time the camera will come out of it's bag!

Thank you for the inspiration....

Hi Steve

Well, I've been out in plenty of horrible weather but I would draw the line at that LOL! But the next time I'm in the grey misty stuff in Scotland, I'll be shooting away....
