While I had a great time photographing a wide variety of Bird species in Tanzania, and I will be posting more of them, the cats were extremely impressive. We didn't see many of them, but this one posed for us, occasionally checking us out (we were still fairly far away).

What's so stunning to me is not only the beautiful and regal pose of the cat, but also the perfect match between of the framing with the scene. I assume that this is the whole shot? It wouldn't take much for the animal to be either too small a form in the shot or else too close for this combo! I really don't think this can be much improved apron. Now if the animal had been closer, then you might have had to remove the x 1.4 converter and risk losing the shot altogether. so do you carry another camera with a 70-200 on it, just in case? I'd hate to be trying to put aside the convertor, picking up a 300 or the 70-200 and hoping the cat stays put!

Well, I guess you could do a really great head and shoulders if this one setup was all you had handy in the time frame of the cat's visit!
