I have an client in my accounting business with a retail home furnishings store. Today, one of her clients was in shopping and asked me for a card. I did not have any of my accounting cards with me, but, I did have a photography card with me. The image on the background of my card is a photo I took of a Tiare flower in Tahiti, but, since I do not want to mix business with pleasure, I usually won't give out one in the setting of the other. My client does know I dabble in the photographic world, since I tried to shoot some of her product for her advertising when I was first learning - the images did not come out well at all then.
As a holiday gift to my clients, I took some of my favorite images and made note cards out of them, which were well received. Anyway, my store-owner client liked my photo from my business card and then asked me to print a dozen various florals for her on art quality paper and frame them for her to sell to her clients.
So, I ended up with two new clients today. One for my accounting practice and one for my photography business! Who knows where that will lead?
