Welcome J.W.,

Great to start with pictures. White orchids are almost always in my home. It used to be that these were rare expensive flowers secretly admired among inward looking societies of admirers. Today they come from the supermarket, each bloom exquisite and perfect! They are however a challenge to photograph as purchased. They are very generous full bloomed and seem to go on for ever. That we could deal with but then they're so top heavy, they usually need a stick and a ties to keep them standing! Where does one start to photograph and orchid and where does it end! That's the challenge! So for me you have picked one of the most beautiful flowers, but to me, at least a co,postional challenge.

I like the image but I'm prejudiced for my like of a sweeping arc of the length of the blooms. Still, you have done a good job. When you say, "in the sun", are these growing outside and just lit by the sun?

Here it's so easy to enjoy as the picture is balanced and immediately pleasing. I enjoy signs of aging of the flower. It's not necessary to show perfection. What is giving that "3D" appearance? Is it HDR or what?

In this picture, you might be surprised if you looked at adding a little more black space around this second bloom. What do you think?

Thanks for sharing. Both pictures are enjoyable.
