Forgotten Soldier II

This is the second photo of Tony, a homeless man from Bristol, UK. Tony is a veteran of the Falklands War and has never been able to deal with its aftermath.

Given it's freezing at the moment I hope he's doing ok.

Hi Matt,

It's a strong portrait. I do think the skin tone needs a bit more work, the magenta to yellow transition seems too strong, despite the cold.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Bart

Thanks Bart. A second set of eyes is very useful - I hadn't noticed the slight yellow tone. I will reduce this.

Cheers!!

Strong portrait !
This man, like so many others, is a victim of a stupid war where men kill each other for nothing. A shame for the human race.

I am sure that in black and white this photograph would make a fantastic strong portrait !

Thank you for sharing such a good capture. :)

Matt,

This is a strong and demanding (for the viewer) portrait.
I don't really care if the skin tones are correct or not.

I see a man who still has remainders of the thousand-yards stare in his eyes.
I see a man who deliberately looks older than he could look - without his beard.
I see a man who is still haunted by the moments he had to live through.

It is sad to see that the people who send him there seem no longer to care about him.

He is also a Forgotten Son (even if you don't like the music - the lyrics are pretty much on topic).

Best regards,
Michael
