This is a surprise that I missed. Can you say anything about the chemistry of the flame from these pictures?

Well, this was done as I was asked about some engineers about combustion processes and how to make those visible.
Indeed they see how well that process works and where in that flame those reactions happen. The OH* radical plays
an important role which emits at 313nm - hence why I used those band with a narrowband UV filter
