Hi everyone. My name is Eric and I'm an...oops, wrong crowd. ;)

I have been taking pictures of airplanes and about everything else since I got my first polaroid, many years ago. I got my first 35mm (Ewww, film!) in 1985, a Minolta X-370. I still have it, sitting on a shelf, collecting dust. Today, I shoot with a Nikon D80 and D50, specializing in aviation photography, but have been exploring other subjects as well. I have been published in number of magazines and periodicals and one book so far. Two more books are due out next year that will feature some of my aviation pictures.

I found this forum while looking for info on the Moorpark Civil War Re-enactment. I lurked for a bit and decided to join. I have enjoyed looking at the shots by Nikolai Sklobovsky and Dave Carrey of the event linked from the 48 OVVI website (http://www.48ovvi.org/moorpark2007/).

My website is in my sig if you want to take a look. There are probably 3500-400 pictures up there these days. I have lost track.

I look forward to photography discussions with you all.

No you arrived art the right place. This is a place for the addict of our interest, photography. However, it is more than that! Photography also has passion, purpose and intent as well as hard work and beneift to others, all of which are missed in the most other excesses in life!

Read the article on Nicolas Claris. He is a Pro Marine photographer and distinuished with success and prestigious awards. You'll find him and many others here helpful, fascinating and appreciative of your best!

I have only seen the Silver Wings and have such pleasure! It's 6:07 a.m. and I'm going back to sleep, but I must say right now that on the basis of what I've seen, you pick great subjects and perspectives and make pictures that spread happimess! So I'll double the welcome! What a graceful lady! How she leans back on that pole and doesn't get swept away, I haven't fathomed as yet! Who's the co pilot?

I'll look more later!

Thanks Asher. The Silver Wings are a husband and wife team of Hartley Folstad and Margi Stivers. Hartley flies the plane. Margi does ballet 3 times a week to be graceful and flexible. They are wonderful subjects to shoot and are super nice people too.

I approach photography as a way of capturing moments in time. I try to show the world what I see, as I see it through the viewfinder.
