Greetings:

I just joined the site today and thought I would introduce myself. I am Sil from N. CA. I have been shooting since 1960 when I began with a Brownie P&S in 110 format. I have enjoyed the hobby all these years and look forward to learning how to shoot with my new Nikon, a D300. I have shot with an F2 since 1973 and with medium format cameras as well. The new digital sensor technology is very impressive. I just get lost with all the possible selections available on the digital cameras. So from time-to-time I may be here asking about this or that. I look forward to frequenting this site and hope to make a few new friends.

I am down south of you in Ventura County...just north of LA. And another Brownie Era photographer (well, it was my mother's Brownie!). My first very own camera was an Instamatic with Flash Cubes.

Welcome Sil,

I started with a Brownie and then graduated to a Kodak Retinette 1B which was to me amazing and served me for many years until my Pentax Spotmatic which was revolutionary! I still have it!

PM me where you are and we'll look you up when visiting S.F. if you are near. we have quite a contingent there!

Post you nikon images and any film you might have. Get out those shoe boxes. We want to increase our strength in nikon shooters. the D300 interest me and the D3 even more! also Mikon's fine wide angle lenses can be used with the Canon cameras!!
