Harajuku girl spotted in London

Gothic Lolita is a distinctive Japanese fashion style often seen in places like Harajuku. Gothic Lolita or "GothLoli" (ゴスロリ, gosurori; sometimes alternatively "Loli-Goth") is a youth fashion among Japanese teenagers and young women. It emphasizes Victorian-style girl's clothing and often aims to imitate the look of Victorian porcelain dolls.

Nigel,

The girl does seem to surprise other folk; good catches!

Looking up Harajuku educated me to the existence of a Railway station by that name in Tokyo and the fashion of cosplay, meeting there and elsewhere with costumes depicting fictional characters. I was several hundred years off in dating the bonnet, LOL!

Thanks for your description, since otherwise I'd have thought this lady, with the 16th Century bonnet, belonged to a far-out sect of believers who weave their own cloth, kick out boys over 16 years and marry off their 12 year old daughters to older men!

I like the idea that young folk in Japan exploring the boundaries of fashion. Reminds me of Chelsea in the 60's. Seems like a good feed for the rest of us, except for the cross-dressing, I'm not ready for that, LOL!
