Hawk takes down Squirrel

I love how bright these are and how much detail is in them! I like the way the hawk is positioned in the second one over the first. In fact I would say the hawk looks strange with it's neck stretched like that and as far as what is seen in the photo there is no reason for him to look that way.... yep 2nd is definitely my favorite.

Great shot, and probably a rare one. Most hawks don't go after squirrels if they can help it. Squirrels are strong enough to bite and do severe damage to a hawk's foot if the hawk doesn't grab it properly (I learned this after shooting a hawk at the track where I exercise, though that hawk was just sitting there)

Hawks...

These are really nice images. We have a hawk or two that live in the trees in front of our house. Every spring we have babies. Frequently we find their leftovers in our yard - usually rabbits - when they are waiting for their eggs to hatch. I have small dogs that can't be left alone outside in our yard since I don't want them to be dinner. They are amazing to watch.
