Help with FS listing

Asher (or whoever can help),
Pardon my ignorance. I'd like to list some gear for sale, and I note that photographs are recommended. I've taken some shots, but in starting out to do my post, in the panel "posting rules"just below here, it states I may not post attachments.... I have looked in the FAQ, and I can't see any tool in the toolbar just above to enable me to do this.
How's it done?
Thanks,
John.

Its easy. Put your photos on a website.

Get the url

eg

http://www.joeblogsphoto.com/pictures/for_sale/Canon_20D.jpg

enclose that in between

ie

http://www.joeblogsphoto.com/pictures/for_sale/Canon_20D.jpg[forward slashIMG]

make sure the file is .jpg

no spaces in names so use_underscore_instead!

use sRGB quality 8-10, 400-600 pixels wide as needed.

lenses, show through the lens and canon, show the code at the camera end if present on L lenses.

Simlar for other makes
Good luck!

Asher

Thanks Asher, for a fast reply.
I did find this in the FAQ on postings, which is what threw me:

"To attach a file to a new post, simply click the [Manage Attachments] button at the bottom of the post composition page, and locate the file that you want to attach from your local hard drive."

Is this method no longer possible?
Thanks, John.

That's there to trick people! I guess you found it in the FAQ of the Forum rather than the FAQ of the Website! We'll have to deal with that! Sorry for the confusion.

Hi
if you have a lot of gear for sale, you may have a lot of pics to show.
Posted images is limited to 4 per post.
Then I suggest that you build a web page with all the infos and picture and post a link to that html page and not to the pictures (of course for doing this you need to have a web sever).
For creating a link to a web page, click on the
createlink.gif
icon just on top of your message box.

Doing this, please post a simple list of gear for sale in your post and the link to your html page "for more info".

BTW, For posting an image, another way to do (to Asher's elegant solutuion;-) is to paste the url of your image using the
insertimage.gif
icon just on top of your message box.

Nicholas,
Thanks for your timely advice, it makes a lot of sense.
I think I can manage it now, thanks to Asher and yourself... my posting for my F/S Arca-Swiss B2 head should follow soon!
Cheers,
John.
