Hi all, a bit about me...

Hi, I'm Julian Knight. I've been shooting advertising and fashion for a little more than 15 years, it became my full time profession around 6 years ago.
I work a lot with models and have contributed masterclasses to Advanced Photoshop Magazine, before I left UK (in 2009) I was quite heavily involved with Practical Photography Magazine and PhotoPlus.
I used to be a Canon user and wrote an article on their professional network, CPN and a "How was it shot" editorial in EOS magazine but made the change to Nikon...after my 5D went missing at a fashion show.

I run photography workshop holidays in Malta now, still shooting for ad agencies and mag editorials, I've always taught and enjoy doing so. When my wife and I took our honeymoon in Malta we decided not to return to UK and ended up blending photography tuition with sunny holidays.

I'm looking forward to contributing to the forums here, feel free to PM me as well. I was fortunate enough to break into a tough industry and am happy to share tips on how it's all done, getting published, dropping the day job etc.

Best,
Julian

Hello Julian: your mini-biography is most interesting. You may be in a position to advise others who may be thinking of moving residence to another country - there must be hundreds of factors to take into consideration, both personal and professional.

As far as the personal ones are concerned, you must be laughing in Malta, if you are aware of the awful cold rainy summer that we in Britain are "enjoying".

Best wishes,

Martin

Welcome Julian!

Thanks for such a fine introduction. We sure can benefit from folk who share their ideas. What a brave move! For sure Malta is a rich place to live with it's history. How much does it have British tradition left in the way of life?

We have a section on workshops etc and you could post there, down the road. Of course, folk would have to get to Malta! It's not like one just hops on a bus or takes ride on a Vaporetto from Venice!

Jump in with some of your favorite pictures and feel free to comment on work here that gets your attention.

Glad you found us!!

Asher
