iTablet in the modern world of photography

187608788_57947322d3_o.jpg

This is a good illustration on how computer dependent photography is becoming, specially regarding communications, but also for "lab work" archiving, viewing and almost all other aspects. Cameras ARE computers too.

That may be why there is so much speculation on a iTable from Apple... my opinion is that we do need one, but it better have:

* User changeable battery (same as our cameras)
* Changeable secondary HD (same as our cameras, to store terrabites of files)
* Expandability for user required FireWire or other fast media connections

All of what you see in a garden variety of iPhone: G3 or faster connection, WiFi, GPS, touch screen OS X,

Probably a good verbal OS could be useful for paparazzi-on-red-carpet situations. You could have your Bluetoth on ear and narrate footnotes to your iTable while actually shooting and check after for spelling....

Leonardo,

Thanks for kicking off this discussion. That first picture was taken by which photographer? I'd lick to add credit below it and a title of where it was. Is that part of the Obama presidential inauguration?

Interesting stick-ons to the back of the Apple lids!

Asher, I want to give credit, where I found it,

I don't see the by line. The post is by Travis Hudson and they want posters to: "name the gadgets" in the images.... lots of them -gadgets- happen to have an apple as logo, then, Nikon seams to have come back, but Canon is very much present.

It is interesting NOT to see the lightest of Apple's laptops here, the MacAir? it may mean that size is not the most important in a mobile cyberlab ... Do you see the guy with a Compact Flash reader glued to his computer? and the other one has a red-orange adapter, probably --cellular service-- I don't understand why Apple is not producing a PRO 13inch laptop, I think that photographers are even getting second hand ones because of portability...

The BIG problem with non MacOS super small portables is that VISTA has 50,000,000 lines of code and makes them painfully sloooooow.
