Almost forgot to share these photo's with you all! Can't remember if I told you all that my favorite Eagle nest fell a few weeks ago. Tree snapped in half due to high winds and the fact it was a dead tree. Baby Eagle's survived the fall. We called the Audubon Society and with in an hour were there to rescue the Eaglet's. The male juvi was fine but the female fractured a hip. She will need a couple more weeks of recovery.

But last Friday I was called for the release of the Male back to his home and family. Photo's aren't the best as I had to deal with poor lighting and a crowd of photographers, not counting the local t.v station.

What an experience for me as I have been following this nest and mating pair for a couple of years now.

I was wondering what happened to these eaglets! These pictures go a long way to documenting this important event. Which is the lady? Is she a veterinarian? Tell us about the fellow's hat! Also how do they prevent the bird being habituated and comfortable with humans?

Here are a few more from the release.

Sorry Asher, I should have given better details. The lady in white holding and releasing the Eagle is with the Audubon Society. She is the lady in charge for release in our area. Actually she went back to the Audubon after this release to pick up another Eagle that was being released 2 hours from this location.

The 2 Eaglet's are kept away from the general public and are taught to fly at a secret location they wont disclose. The really work hard with the Raptors but really minimize the human touch.

It appears that the Adults and this Male Juvi have found each other, but seem to be hanging in another location, haven't seen them in 4 days. The remaining female will be released in another week or so but will probably be set free at another location since it appears the parents & Juvi have moved on.

The Audubon informs me that every Juvi Eagle they release back in the wild is always fostered by another pair of Adult Eagles if the original parents leave the area. They have actually have placed Eaglet's in a different nest and the resident Eagles take them in as their on. If only humans we so compassionate. This whole experience has been one I will remember for life!
