• Bald Eagles can live a long time. The oldest recorded bird in the wild was at least 38 years old when it was hit and killed by a car in New York in 2015. It had been banded in the same state in 1977.

I wonder if Audubon had a camera and lens outfit like you use he’s have still shot the birds out of the sky to paint their portraits!

Not sure Asher but even with todays technologies the use of commercial photography hides around the world is a common practise but a controversial subject amongst wildlife photographers.

Looked it up. Not all, but eagles do except when a mate dies and they often find a new one!

Good to know ! They look the same when mature except the female is of a larger size .
