This is so impressive. did you manage to get shots that took in either sides so one could stitch a wider view?

I do have a wider view. But this time I did not compose shots with an intent to stitch. I am seriously considering purchase of a RRS pano rail.

That's nice to have but if the scene is reasonably distant, then modern software like autopano Giga, for example will take care of translations in any axis when you at least try to rotate by hand through an imaginary optical axis.
