Lamoille Canyon Elko County Nevada

Took a drive up Lamoille Canyon yesterday.. It's supposed to be about 12 miles up, but they had it blocked off due to heavy snow only about 6 miles up the canyon.. The Lamoille river is running quite heavy, and I parked off the road and took a hike through the thickets.. I heard running water and pushed my way through the reeds - found this. While I was stomping around, I chased out a couple of beautiful whitetail deer.. The Canyon was quiet, a little chilly, and absolutely peaceful..

This is a large valley carved out of an ancient Glacier that was over 1000 feet thick...

Splendid scenes. Re reminds me of the views Fahim takes in Switzerland! The lines are curvaceous! dod you do some fancy processing? Almost seems like the Orton effect.

BTW, glaciers are ice. so how was this carved out of an glacier. Do you mean carved by a glacier?

You're absolutely correct ..... however, I hope I can be forgiven, as I was just off of a 3 hour drive, and still reeling from winning $401.75 on a Penny Slot Machine !!

(I smell a new tripod/Head)

There was very little processing - it's a 3 image HDR +/- 1 stop ea.. Then a little Dodge/Burn to just emphasize the lighting that these beautiful clouds played on the snow.. OH, and I did "Paint" the roof of the house in the middle of the picture as it was very hard to see.. I think it brings it out a little better.. Same color, just a smidgen brighter..

Had our Golf Clubs with us, so we didn't take the Vette.. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been pretty.. I understand that those Nevada State Police are trained Pit Bulls when it comes to tickets... I actually think some of those Casinos get a cut to replenish some of their losses...

PS - A Corvette will NOT do 65 MPH for any length of time...
