Beautiful Jan! Especially numbers 1 and 3 are excellent (ignoring the black patch under the flower). In #2 I do think that the bokeh is not ideal.

Thank you for your kind comments, funny I think my favourite is the last one, no doubt because I enjoyed the feeling of being in the tree!

But they're all about late summer vibrant colours and the feeling of enjoyment and contentment that I have, which I wanted to share with you.

The butterfly was one of those moments, Paul said "butterfly - behind you" I turned and grabbed this, only this one - very quickly - it then landed my hand for a fraction of a second and flew away......

I enjoyed my butterfly encounter, so I like this photo anyway, for the colours and the feeling it gives me.....

Since going over to the Mac I'm using DPP most of the time at the moment, sometimes Photoshop Elements raw converter (I've not managed to get the full version of Photoshop for the Mac yet.) I've tried Aperture - but prefer DPP, you mentioned Capture One to me previously, I keep meaning to give it a try, but I've been so busy processing, I haven't had time yet, do you think it performs better than DPP, if so why?

All lovely, 3 and 4 are my favourites and speak of the autumns colours and harvest. I agree with Cem's comment on the oof background for number 2. Perhaps keep a wider aperture between shots

Number 1 is very much yours - lovely delicate colour and great light again.

Thank you for your kind comments, yes the light was lovely, it was a gift of a day, particularly at this time of year.....

I'm shooting flowers intensively at the moment for a new project (fingers crossed), have a lovely day, and thank you for commenting.

They are hanging in a pre-autumnal hospice, but content as life was good. A very good precursor to the upcoming season, Janet.

I too find this picture remarkable. To me, there's no dying or death. The tree is still vibrant. The leaves are merely becoming gifts to the earth, a down-payment on the next years growth. The compositional motif is rather of a clothing rack in the dry cleaners with seasonal fashion changes lined up for delivery.
