Just for Fun No C&C will be given: Light Headed

It's been a pretty slow week around here. I keep trying to find different ways of looking at the same things. The hunt continues.

Yes,

It seems to express light-headedness and a big headache too! What did you do to the file?

Asher

Thank you Rachel. You are way too kind. Asher, I basically just obliterated the original file with an extreme increase in exposure, shadow/highlights, and conversion to B&W with the channel mixer in CS4. I really don't enjoy seeing myself "normally" so I will usually do something to alter the reality of the situation and dissociate from it. Works for me.

This is a different take on the same subject. In my boredom today I started trying some different things with lighting and post processing. I took this using my 105mm macro lens and two off camera flash units. The B&W conversion was again done with the channel mixer in CS4. It's probably a bit overdone for some tastes but it's the only way I seem able to get my face where I like it. Reality can be a real bummer sometimes.

James,

I quite like this one too. where was the other light! Did it light the background?

This is an exceptional expressive image with the eyes, lips and brow all making for the concentrated look. I particularly like the asymmetry and the darkness on the left. It seems as if you have come out of the shadows and better be taken seriously.

Kudos once again,

Asher

Thank you Asher. The second flash was one of my small macro flash units that was coming from my lower right. The catchlights in my eyes were actually from that flash. I had it turned way down to only give a little tick of light that kept that side of the face from being completely dark.
This is another that perhaps Charlotte could use in her horror series. I am finding ways of amusing myself that I never thought of before. It is keeping me, so far, from going completely over the edge. One thing I did was spend the last 2 days trying to restore my Windows machine that had suddenly become inundated with some virus or worm or both. I think I have it finally back under control but it was touch and go there for a while. I spent a very pleasant 2 1/2 hours talking with a nice young lady in India who was helping me get Photoshop and Lightroom reinstalled and working again. She did a fine job.

James, the way you put it, the experience, the relief it gave you from your troubles, it sounds like photoshop-phone-sex, LOL!

Don't go further here, I'd try going in the opposite direction for happier outlook! After all, you did call the girl in India! :)

I was always told I had a great face for radio. I had an eye exam today and they dialated my pupils. That is why I look so strange here.
