I'm not sure I understand that. Do you mean it was the latest diesel locomotive that was introduced while there were still steam locomotives in operation? There were several series' of diesel locomotives after the Dr12 (notably Dr13, Dr14, and Dr16).

Thank you Doug! Actually, I believe it was the first in long line of diesel locomotives series and was introduced while some last steam locos were still operational. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thank you Tom and Bart. Bart, the light was especially harsh on good old 753. But I though that in all her rusty splendor she was worth a picture. Here's another one:
