Lilly at the beach, 8x10

My friends daughter, Lilly. Chamonix 8x10 camera, 12" Gundlach Radar lens at 1/50th f8, Tri-x 320 film.

Shooting an energetic little kid was a challenge! Previously I had only photographed her when she was on her rocking horse, but this time she kept on wanting to get up and move around! Quite the challenge to focus, close the lens, put the film holder in, remove the dark slide and click the shutter... all before she had a chance to move again! :D

Daniel,

A very powerfully mass above her to the left of the picture and a diagonals all coming to her with a black vertical mass on the right to balance all this works to make an excellent composition around such a little girl.

Congrats on the camera, the lens and the shot. I love it! We have to shoot together as soon as my back is better!

Asher

In printing I might wonder about trimming a little of the foreground sand and then she will be less central.
