London's Statues & Monuments #8

I think I need to go back and re-do this shot, go back at an even earlier time than 7.14am, the time this shot was taken. The reason being is that i'm not sure I appreciate having those figures clustered at this statues feet, rather than elsewhere in the scene.

It really does get horrendously busy with tourists here.

Hi Paul,

Did you think to use a shorter deep-of-field using a larger aperture ? I think your picture would be enhanced with a light blur on the background.

Regards,

Cedric.

Paul,

You just forgot! You know of course that extending the exposure to 2 minutes or so would have the tiny figures vanish! Of course, you might need a ND filter, but no doubt you own several. Personally, the very lst figure on the right is a useful and intriguing balance. The others I'd dismiss in Photoshop! But then, I have no conscience for such things!

Cedric, I wanted front to back sharpness with all that detail on offer. Cheers.

Asher, it wasn't so much that I minded people in the shot (I should have made that clearer), it was they're location that bothered me slightly.
Do you guys think it looks a little cluttered around the statues feet, as a result?

Paul, I think you have captured very well the "confrontation" of the Angel of Charity (as per Wikipedia :) ) with the Palace of Buckingham. The people passing by doesn´t bother me in any way, they help to add scale, but in terms of composition they are so small anyway... perhaps a group gathered at the entrance of the palace would be interesting?

Cheers, Ruben. I was hoping for more on that side, but it just wasn't happening, seriously. Steady stream of people an' all that.

Paul,

Would t bother you, as far as honesty and your art are concerned, to simply move the figures to where they are most needed? To some this would be unthinkable, to me a reasonable option.
