Maybe not what you were expecting but they were only going 1 mph. Pentax K20D, DA* 50-135 f/2.8, 50mm, 1/400 @ f/4.5, ISO 100, + 1 EV.

Great sense of humor! Still I wish you had the shot from the other side! Is that 5-=135mm the actual focal length of the Pentax lens or the equivalent length to a full size DSLR frame?

Thanks for the comments. Asher, the Pentax DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 is the APS-C FOV equivalent of the FF 70-200. Tom, the bison were stopping to look around and then wander some more down the road. This has been a tough winter for wildlife in the park with deep snow making it tough to travel and find food. And stay ahead of the predators!

I hope you have more taken with this combination. We need to see the Pentax camera better represented. They have managed to get the idea of lightweight, convenient and excellent packaged well. I'm impressed also with the compact "Limited" lenses. It may well trump the 4/3 cameras.

I hope there are more of these pictures. The dark massive buffalo/bison and trees against the white is dramatic and makes for pristine simplified images.

Steve, shooting snow landscape with interesting subjects in the foreground and background is truly challenging. I like the idea of including the road sign on the right - kind of picture story.
Surely a great challenging shot. And thanks for including information on the camera, lens, aperture, shutter, ISO etc, and the little brief.
This is what gentlemen photographers do. I hope the Forum Owner/Moderator is listening.
The Pentax K20D is such an advanced machine. I am a proud owner of one too.

....

The addition of such information is superflous. Nothing to do with etiquette or being nice.

It does not add or subtract ( lack of it ) from my enjoyment of an undoubtedly beautiful image.

Each one is free to add or not as they deem fit. I have never done so previously, and shall not start now. Unless specifically asked for.

With kindest regards.
