He championed the arrival of the Canon 3D as if the Messiah had arrived, and he was right. He promoted loathing of "pixel peeping" to his great credit. He travelled wide. His portfolio on the recycling of old steel boats in Bangladesh was epic and I treasure my copies of the images.

If a camera couldn't be handled with gloves in the cold, it got bad marks! His photographic tours were well organized and paid off for everyone.

He made his mark on several generations of photographers promoting photography with a passion.

His loss is felt by many!
